Tough one! Due to its significance and good balance between script, visual effects and cultural phenomenon that it sparked, I would go for "The Matrix (1999)". Since there are several topics in science-fiction, I would like to remark the most important films in each one.

Buscar prendas desechables o de muy corta vida útil ¿no es una forma de alabar el esquema de consumismo desaforado que es insostenible con el medio ambiente?

Depende. Si reciclar esas prendas desechables tiene menos impacto medioambiental que todo el ciclo de constante lavado de la ropa normal (producción de detergentes, contaminación/tratamiento del agua, energía usada en el planchado) de pronto no es mala idea.

Por otro lado, ya existen prendas que no necesitan ser planchadas con tanta frecuencia (wrinkle resistant) y deben estar cerca las prendas con algo parecido al teflón que las haga resistentes a las manchas y al mal olor. Esa sería otra opción interesante donde no sólo se busque no lavar (prendas desechables) sino también ensuciar menos para minimizar las lavadas.

Yo le apuesto a una combinación de ropa interior desechable y ropa exterior muy resistente a la suciedad que cambie fácilmente de color.

Is not looking for disposable of very short life garments a way to encourage consumerism out of control which is unsustainable for environment?

It depends. If recycling these disposable garments means lesser impact on environmental than the cycle of constant laundry (detergent production, pollution / water treatment, energy used for ironing) suddenly it is not a bad idea.

On the other hand, there are already items that need not be ironed so often (wrinkle resistant) and it won't take long until we have clothes with something similar to Teflon to make them resistant to stains and odour. That would be another interesting option which not only seeks stop washing (as in disposable clothing) but also to minimize mess and therefore, laundry.

I bet for a combination of disposable underwear and outfits highly resistant to dirt which can change colour easily.

¿Por qué habrá cierta tendencia en ciertos regímenes, tales como el socialismo pero no limitados a este, de buscar la imprecindibilidad de sus líderes? ¿Es en ese sentido la democracia liberal con alternación de poder un avance o una pérdida?

Creo que el problema está en las dictaduras en sí y no necesariamente en si son de izquierda (Mao, Castro) o de derecha (Franco, Pinochet). Sin embargo, tal vez en las economías de corte socialista con planificación central aumenta la tentación de concentrar mucho poder en pocas manos. Y las personas con poder siempre quieren una cosa: más poder.

Por esa razón me parece que las democracias liberales, a pesar de todos los problemas e ineficiencias que trae la alternancia de poder, sí nos protege un poco de los Chávez o los Uribe que quieren perpetuarse como sea en el poder.

Why it seems to be a trend in certain regimes (such as socialism but not exclusively) of making their heads indispensable? Is liberal democracy, in that respect, an advance or a setback due to its power alternation?

I think the problem is in dictatorship in itself not in being left wing (Mao, Castro) or right wing (Franco, Pinochet). However, maybe in socialist economies with central planning there is a higher chance to concentrate too much power in too few hands. And people with power always want one thing: more power.

That's why I think liberal democracy, despite all its problems and inefficiency due to power alternation, do protect us a little from characters such as Chávez or Uribe who would like to be forever in power.

With half of it I would create a foundation to encourage quality education in most vulnerable kids in my city; with a quarter of it I would create an investment trust to make a living from the profits and with the final quarter I would travel around the world.

Que tengan tiempo para "perder" conmigo, porque a la larga si tienen muchas buenas cualidades pero no el tiempo para compartir, ¿de qué sirven esas cualidades?

What do you appreciate the most in your friends?

Having time to "waste" with me because, in the end of the day, if they have good traits but not the time to share, what use could I do of those traits?
